Pray FROM Victory

As we begin this journey together, remember this.  We are praying FROM victory, not FOR victory.  The war has already been won for each of us.  Isn't that amazing?!  The tough part is that we live through the daily battles.  That is why we need to pray in confidence, knowing that in the end we are victorious, asking God to protect us each day from the evil one.

What can you pray for in Victory today?  I know that God has claimed my family.  I pray that God keeps our path straight, our eyes fixed on Him.  Take away all that distracts us from Your plan.  Hush the words of the devil and his actions.  This can only happen by the awesome power of the Victory of Jesus Christ!!!!

Just getting started

Wow, I'm doing it.  I am actually blogging.  Why??? you might ask!!!  Here is my convicting story.

I took 12 students from Living Word Church to a Christian Camp 2 weeks ago.  It was a life changing experience for several of the students.  It was awesome to see kids recommitting their life to Christ, giving their lives to Christ for the first time, hearing about Jesus in a way they had never heard, and knowing that God has called them into service for Him.  There were trying times for this 48 year old non camping mom, but, I too, had a "revelation" during the adult devotion time.  We were encouraged to pray for something WE needed.  Not something for our children or others that we know, but, for what WE needed.  My biggest "need" is to know that my two girls live out their lives as christian women and are surrounded by christian influences.

Brad and I made the commitment several years ago to enroll our girls into a Christian School.  We were confident that they were being taught and lead by Christian adults and surrounded by other christian students.  It was a great experience for them!  But then last year, we decided to enroll the girls in Public School.  Brad and I prayed for months that the girls would have the Christian influences we so desired for them.  We prayed alone, together, and with the girls.  And our prayers were answered.  We have been so proud of the friends they have made.  Positive, christian girls.

This continues to be my hearts desire.  But, while at camp, I realized I hadn't been praying for their influences like I had been fervently praying last year.  I started to panic!  What happens if they are lead astray?  What happens if they don't have Christian teachers this year?  What happens if.........  I remembered that Brad had given me the book "Power of a Praying Parent".  I had read it the year before and prayed my way through it.  It is a powerful book, so I decided to pull it out again.  So, Monday I started reading and praying.

I was immediately lead in two directions.  ONE, I need to share my prayers with others, hence the Blog; and TWO, bad things continue to happen to families that pray.  Why?  We are not all perfect parents who have perfect kids doing perfect things.  I know, we are not perfect!  But bad things are happening to people who are christians and have strong christian parents who are continually praying for them.

Blogging has never been something I wanted to do.  But, I feel lead to do it now.   I pray that it will help and encourage other mothers to pray, and that together we can pray our way through the not so perfect times!
